Introduction to Adsense PDF Print E-mail

One of the most sure-fire and low-cost ways to make money on the Internet is through Google Adsense. As part of my website development and hosting business, I had the opportunity to have extra web space that I could use for websites that I wanted to develop. These websites served as testing grounds for money-making ideas that I encountered as part of my research on Internet Marketing. One of those that proved to really work was Google Adsense.

Eventually, even our company website started displaying adsense ads and as I spread my adsense account over several websites, the overall revenue also increased. There are several factors that dictate how well your performance in adsense will be but two of the most important as far as I'm concerned are content and traffic.  But then I'm getting ahead of my article.

Perhaps the first question to answer is "What is Google Adsense?" Google AdSense is an easy and fast way for website owners to show relevant Google ads on their content pages. When people who visit their websites click on the ads that are displayed, the owners of these web pages earn money. These websites can be all types and different sizes but because the Google Adsense ads relate to what is contextually being displayed on the page, the assumption is that the visitor of that page is interested in what that page is talking about and may very well become also interested in the ads being shown. The ads match the characteristics and interests of the people that are attracted to the content being offered and the likelihood that they will click on an ad being shown becomes high.

Aside from ads that can be both image and text, Google Adsense also gives website owners the capability to provide Google search on their pages and earn more money through the ads displayed in the resulting search pages. This gives website owners that chance to earn advertising revenue from pages on their website. If you are offering Adsense on your business website, this could be a very good way of adding revenue since you are bound to build up content for your business site anyway.

Obviously, because the revenues are dictated by the relevance of the ads, and the relevance of the ads are in turn dictated by the general theme or topic of the page a visitor is viewing, it goes without saying that one major factor that can dictate Adsense success is content.

In future articles, I will share with you how you can optimize your website's content to maximize or at least increase your chance of succeeding in the use of Adsense. In the meantime, one interesting article to read is this article by Dustin Hemmerling entitle "Gaga Over Google Adsense. "
